—Longhorn Luke, attacking Annie Stoakes |
Longhorn "Buff" Luke is a minor character featured in Red Dead Revolver.
Unlike his brother, Longhorn Luke is not playable in Showdown Mode despite the unique character model (long beard, piercing, etc.).
History[]
Background[]
At one point Longhorn Luke was a legendary buffalo hunter and frontiersman. When the buffalo dwindled, Luke had to find another way to earn a living with his gun and lasso. So, he went into business with his brother, Hal, ruining the lives of honest folk for the Governor's gold. According to Sheriff Bartlett, he can't do anything to stop Hal or Luke, because their boss is also his boss and this makes him want to move to Mexico.
A $500 reward is offered for bringing him and his brother in, dead or alive, for harassment and murder.
Events of Red Dead Revolver[]
After the entire Holstein Hal's Gang is wiped out, Buff and Hal charge into Stoakes' Ranch on American Buffalos and break down her fence, eventually attacking her with their lassos and rifles.
Annie Stoakes fights him at her ranch and he is eventually killed with his brother.

Sheriff Bartlett's Journal[]

Trivia[]
- Luke, alongside his brother, is the only character to use the lasso in the series, similar to John or Jack in Red Dead Redemption, or Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2.
- He is dressed in Buffalo skin clothing and even wears a hat with the animal's horns while his brother is dressed in a Holstein cow outfit.
- He also wears a nose ring in the same way that some cattle do.
- There is a mention of him in the description for the Dirty Lasso (which unlocks his page); the interface claims that Longhorn Luke used the said lasso when he hunted down the largest Buffalo ever recorded in the history of the Southwest.
- Like his brother, Longhorn Luke was a zombie-styled character in the beta version of Red Dead Revolver and was supposed to be playable.
- Luke and his brother, Holstein Hal and even their father, are known criminals in Brimstone and are frequently mentioned by Sandy Dodge.
