I know more than Dr. Gallagher, but I ain't certified!
Louis gossiping about Francis Gallagher

Louis Granger is a minor character featured in Red Dead Redemption.

Background[]

Louis runs the General Store in Thieves' Landing. Judging from some of his quotes, he is of French descent.

Events of Red Dead Redemption[]

In addition to being able to purchase and sell multiple items at his shop, Louis often can be found playing Five Finger Fillet in the Escalera market or in Thieves' Landing. Otherwise, he can also be found walking around Thieves' Landing, sometimes chatting with other people or prostitutes at the brothel.

Trivia[]

  • Louis shares the same character head with Clyde Evans, Milford Weaver, Elvin Coggins, Herman Ruff, Clifford Ray, Ray Warthington and Dewey Alcock.
  • There are actually two Grangers in the game. During the day, one can be found behind the checkout at the Thieves' Landing general store, while another can be found around the corner playing Five Finger Fillet. Hilariously, if the player wins over Louis in a Five Finger Fillet game, he might walk over to his store and converse with his other self.
  • The Spaldings quote is a reference to an unseen location later explored in Red Dead Redemption 2, which is a large, inaccessible department store in Saint Denis[1]
    • He is the second character to mention this location, the other being Armadillo's banker Baxter Deaton.
  • He can oddly be found defending Warthington Ranch during the Undead Nightmare.
  • He claims to know more about medicine than Dr. Francis Gallagher, which could be why he also accepts buying flowers and herbs from the player.
  • Funny enough, Granger might sometimes accidentally fall into the water from the docks or near the brothel and the game will warn the player that a shopkeeper has been killed.
