Mac Callander is a minor character mentioned in Red Dead Redemption II.
History
Background
Mac and his brother Davey were two criminals who joined into Dutch van der Linde's gang at some point in the 1890s. According to Charles Smith, they were both rather violent.
In 1899, the Van der Linde gang attempted to rob a ferry in the town of Blackwater. However, things turned sour and both Callander brothers were injured; though Dave was rescued and taken with the gang to recover, Mac was separated and escaped on his own.
According to agent Andrew Milton, he and fellow agents of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency caught up to Mac eventually and killed him slowly.
Events of Red Dead Redemption 2
Mac was mentioned several times by Arthur Morgan and other members of the gang, who mourned his loss, as well his brother's who died shortly after the group arrived in Colter. Milton later used Mac's death to taunt Morgan.
