- He may be a reference to the famous basketball player Magic Johnson.
- He could also be a reference to Michael Jackson, whose music video for Thriller famously used the living dead in dance sequences.
- His name may also be a reference to Peter Jackson, a film director famous for splatter films such as Brain Dead (aka Dead Alive in the US), a zombie film.
- Interestingly, the handle on the cleaver stuck in Jackson's head points toward the rear, suggesting that it was not placed there by one of his victims retaliating.
- There are Bolters in Undead Nightmare Singleplayer who look exactly like him, with the only difference being his skin color.
