I’ve come to a decision on my plan for the upcoming Bounty targets in Online page. In order to avoid the long winded process of making a table and the possible complications thereof, I have decided that the crime committed by the individual target (which is, essentially, the biography) can be italicised and put in brackets next to the name. This way, the wiki will still include such information, but it can be implemented in a simple, realistic manner.
Therefore, I request that you stop making any more pages for the targets until then, and instead hang on to the biographies for the time being. I will try to make the individual page tomorrow, but it’s more likely to be on Tuesday. Eventually, when the biography information is on the central page in the form mentioned, each standalone page for a bounty target will be deleted.
Please add future bounty targets - whether they’re singular, duo or a gang - to this page. The crime committed by the character (basically the biography) can be put in italics next to the character’s name. Please try to keep it brief, just for the purpose of having enough space. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND using Classic Editor for this page, as the columns will make Visual Editor hard to use.
Pages for legendary targets can still be made, but any new pages for standard bounty targets will be deleted. Information on existing bounty target pages (namely the biography, as described in the previous paragraph), should be put on the page, and once this is done, said pages will be deleted.
It cannot have escaped your attention that the number of regular bounty targets in Online is extremely big. Someone on this wiki, who I will not name, has stated that these names are randomised. I do not have any proof of this, but the suspiciously large amount of names suggests that this may be true.
If the names are randomly generated, then each page for a bounty target is unnecessary because they are not individual characters in their own right, so they would have to be deleted and replaced by a single page, which would be about non-legendary Online bounty targets as a whole.
I would therefore suggest temporarily refraining from making any more pages for Online bounty targets until this claim has been verified. This is not a formal request and I will respect your decision whatever it is, but this is just a piece of advice. Remember that this claim has not been confirmed as true, and is merely speculation for the time being.
Please take this into consideration.
P.S. Another word of advice: if you have a question, it’s best to post it on my wall or that of another staff member. No one will see it if it’s on your wall only.
Just my personal 2ct to this: I would say that the Legendary Bounties from RDO should stay in the Wiki simply because they are unique and the characters do have a background story. Their value is the same as the bounties in the Story Mode.
I’m not sure if these bounty targets are necessarily randomized, I mean all their names and biographies are pretty much different, although the images on the posters seem to always be the same. Anyway did either of you see my blog on nickname suggestions for bounty targets?
If you want to post something you would click "text" if you want to right something or "poll" if you want to make a poll. If you want to view other posts you would scroll down and click one that looks interesting. That would give you what they were asking on the top followed by replies to it and a place to post your own reply.
I need help finding videos that contain the information on these following bounty targets:
The Ellerton Gang
The "Flat Iron Riders"
If anyone finds any please let me know. Oh and about the duo bounty targets some of them are made up of both a man and a woman which makes me confused about the gender section in the character infobox, like what I should fill it out with.
If a page needs an image, there is a specific template for that, this one, post it above the infobox but above the stub template.
Introductions for character pages should start with the character's role (supportin, major or - in the case of bounty targets, minor) which links to this page, and then if it's a bounty target (which should then link to this page.
Avoid making trivia sections unless there is something to write there right away.
===Background=== should be under the larger ==History== sections.
Mission/s appearances should always have the second word uncapitalized (appearances, not Appearances). In relation to that, rather than '''''Insert game name here''''', please use ;''Insert game name here''.
Aaaaaand that's it, I think.
On a serious note I want to thank you for making all those pages. It's great that someone takes the time to make all the new bounty targets their own pages, and we greatly appreciate your efforts here, so thank you once more.
Hey there. Thank you for making pages for various Online characters. I am just here to give you a few pointers.
Please do not add a “Quotes” heading when you make the page. Only characters with a lot of dialogue tend to have a quotes section. The articles you are creating are generally for characters which are fairly minor, and thus they wouldn’t have any meaningful quotes to put on the page. This section can be created if there is some valid content for it, but otherwise, please refrain from adding it.
Secondly, could you please use the “Bounty targets in Online” category, as opposed to the “Bounty Targets” one. This is because it is a more specific category in which all bounty targets from Online should go. The other is a more general, “parent” category.
Please take these into consideration, and keep up the good work!
It's because they have bare-bones of information about them. You have names, breed type, owner and - if I remember correctly - stats: all which can be included into the main horse breed page, but nothing truly substantial to warrant them their own pages.
Though I don't have a hand in editing and removing pieces of info regarding owned mounts by Arthur but Buell is a determinant horse since he/she does not only applies to Arthur as an owned mount but to John as well.
Again, this is quite a contradictory note. Discuss this to the admins and moderators if Buell is applicable as part of Arthur's mount or not.
Let’s say you’re a professional footballer — just because running is a part of your “profession”, it doesn’t make you a professional runner because of it, does it now? Although it may not be a perfect example, it should get my point across. Just because Marston participated in a lot of duels, doesn’t necessarily make him a gunslinger.
Not all gunfighters were famous or became legends, I’ve learned that from “Deadly Dozen: Forgotten Gunfighters of the Old West”, three books, by Robert K. DeArmont, about lesser-known gunfighters who didn’t become legendary or well-remembered like Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, and others.
