  • Hey, man. You there? I was wondering if I could ask you something.

    • As to why this is, my opinion is that it is done to give the player an incentive to keep playing the game while they are using Jack. With the promise of new outfits (obtainable by continuing to play the game, such as speedrunning gang hideouts in the case of the Marshal uniform and achieving 100% completion for the Bureau uniform), it keeps players occupied and gives them more reasons to continue playing. Regardless of whether this is “realistic” or “right”, I believe that this, from Rockstar’s point of view, is the reason why these outfits are only available for Jack.

    Comparison

Hello there, I was wondering if there were anywhere I could put this? John's Heist suit from RDR 2 his Elegant Suit from RDR 1. Is there anywhere I could put this or is it not noteworthy enough for mention?

    • Hey Logan! There is already a page for the Elegant Suit, although if you have any extra info on it feel free to expand the page. Could you tell me more about the Heist suit? I'm not very familiar with it.

    • First off, that’s a great picture! I have been meaning to get pictures of the Van der Linde gang members in their suits for a while now.

I’d say that it is worth mentioning on the Elegant Suit page that the suit worn by John during the robbery is almost identical to the outfit in question. As for the picture, I am less sure for the moment. I may consider cropping out the Elegant Suit from it to get a stand-alone of John’s suit worn in the robbery, but as stated, I am yet to make a decision on what to do with the photo.

      Cheers,

      Wagwan piffting23

  • If you've seen what I recently had to reverse on pages pertaining to the Blackwater Sheriff and Oswald Dunbar, and Big Valleythese two users should consider how far they take their edits. I'm just bringing this up because I think they deserve a fair warning.

  • Why have the pages for the Gangs Horses, such as Baylock and The Count, been utterly removed. The pages are gone and the links are either now red, indicating the page doesn't exist, or it leads to that specific horses breed. Do you know why this is?

      Loading editor
    • Because the gang horses on their own barely offer enough information to be a page in their own right. Therefore, they have been merged with the page for their specific breed of horse. On these pages, there is a section (titled “Special variants”) that gives all the necessary information on the horse. Additionally, a picture of each gang horse appears in the gallery on the horse breed page that it has been merged with.

  • I believe it would be worthwhile to add a "killed victims" or a "kill count" section under characters. Like Cornwall under dutch, Ross under Jack, Molly under Grimshaw, etc. What do you think?

    • I disagree. Each mission has a list of killed characters, and thats enough I think. It would get extremely messy for Arthur and John in particular as they kill so many people over the course of the game.

  • That sure was a good discussion we had about merging the Gunsmith pages, wasn't it?! Did you even look at it? Two people said "let's keep it" and then you just delete the whole page. Is that your definition of "merge"? Now you've got a Talk page floating around out there with no base page for it, and there's still a link to Gunsmith (RDR II) on the Gunsmith page!

    • Alright, well if the merge was discussed on Discord, then I apologize. (I've never used Discord before. I looked today and could find no such discussion.) I disagree, but I will try to accept the decision. However, the page "Gunsmith (RDR 2)" should have been made into a Redirect to "Gunsmith", rather than deleted.

I also feel like I should bring to your attention your own policies: "Administrators and other staff are only here to help keep the wiki in good working order, they are not automatically correct, and they must stick to the rules like all other users." (Red Dead Wiki:All Editors are Equal) and "However, all editors are equal, and administrators should not be considered as being "in charge." Administrators can help resolve discussions, but they are there to uphold good behaviour, not to to tell other users what to do." (Red Dead Wiki:Administration).

    • Cyanide3 wrote: Just my two cents about "However, there are times when we must go around the editors.". I didn't see the discussion here on the RDR Wiki. Maybe you should move all staff decisions or discussions to the wiki and not have it on Discord or any other plattform so the editors and users can write down their opinion about the certain topics and merging pages.

Maybe people didn't want to vote in the last months or weeks, but you certainly see that there are editors like Exit or Wag, who seem to care a lot about creating a better content. And these users shouldn't be left out, since they are the ones feeding the wiki with a ton of informations.

As staff members, most of our discussions on the wiki are supposed to be discussed in private. It may not be things that are on a CIA level of secrecy, but we still enjoy privacy in what we say and do.

Also Exitwound, we do our best to not tell other users what to do. As I've stated before, we give users as much autonomy as possible. We stick to the rules, however there are times when we use another rules which states "If there is any rule(s) that is inhibiting from making this wiki a better and/or more descriptive site, ignore it.".
