The Mexican Poncho is an unlockable outfit featured in Red Dead Redemption. The Mexican Poncho consists of the Cowboy Outfit with the additional of a brightly colored, badly torn, traditional poncho, over the Bandolier, if owned. It does not have any effect on gameplay, like some of the other outfits.

This outfit is attained upon purchasing any of the five Safehouses in Nuevo Paraiso.

Trivia

  • It is impossible to obtain this poncho with no holes or tears, however, the Reyes' Rebels Outfit has an intact poncho with a different, darker, design.
  • A glitch may happen in cutscenes where Marstons arm may go through the poncho.
  • It is likly a referance to the outfit worn by Clint Eastwood's character "The Man with No Name" from the Dollars trilogy, an iconic series of Western movies.
  • When wearing the poncho as Jack Marston, the outfit shown beneath it is the same cowboy outfit as John Marston.
  • This is the preferred outfit by many players when doing the Nuevo Paraiso story arc.
  • It is very similar to the poncho worn by Clint Eastwood in the film The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
