More Than One Way To Earn a Buck is a story mission in Red Dead Online. This mission is only available to players who are dishonorable.
Mission Overview[]
Samson Finch told you to meet him near Fort Wallace for more work. He wants revenge on his old company there.
Story[]
Samson Finch is met camped on a hill overlooking Fort Wallace, where he informs the protagonist and their posse that his old regiment and partner are holed up. He instructs them to eliminate the company and the munitions dump there in order to be rid of any competitors to his plan to rob the Lemoyne National Bank. Old Man Jones will appear and criticize Finch's dishonorable moral code as well as remind the players that they can always visit to mend their honor. After briefly arguing with Finch, Jones will convey thanks from Horley before departing. Finch subsequently bids the players good luck in dealing with the military unit while he stays behind.
Upon approaching the fort, the posse will need to force their way in through blowing the front gate with dynamite. Soldiers will open fire and Samson's partner will be heard giving orders from his barricaded office. Once the players have dispatched the soldiers, the commander, and their reinforcements, they will next need to destroy the 3 ammunition caches before leaving the fort. Samson Finch will ride down to the protagonist and their posse, pay them for their efforts, and waves off Old Man Jones once more as he returns only to comment on the consequences of their actions.
