Hey there, cowboy. This article looks a little bit small. I reckon you could impress me by contributing to it. Don't be shy now. |
Mount Shann is a traversable mountain in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online in the Big Valley region of the West Elizabeth territory.
It lies roughly in the center of the region, constituting most of it and northwest of Strawberry.
Notes[]
- In the southeast region can be found Giant Remains. Also near the top in the southeast are Rock Carving coordinates; these are both near the trail.
- Mount Shann appears to be modeled off of the real-life Mount Shasta in Northern California and possibly Mount Elbert in Colorado. Supporting evidence include the presence of the Little Creek River which bears a striking resemblance to the montane creeks of Colorado. The high presence of elk nearby also indicates the Colorado and Wyoming mountains.
- The giant sundial on one of Mount Shann's peaks appears to be modeled after a Japanese archeological site called the Ōyu Stone Circles.
- Visiting Mount Shann at approximately 2 AM will cause a UFO to appear, floating in the air[1]. After a short while has passed, the UFO will ascend into the sky and vanish.
- This is foreshadowed by the seventh line in the Mysterious Sermon that is found in Hani's Bethel ("WHEN WE WILL RETURN FOR THE NEW CHOSEN AND WORSHIP ONCE AGAIN AT THE PEAK OF MOUNT SHANN").
Trivia[]
- The various mysterious landmarks and the UFO present at this location are a nod to Mount Chiliad from Grand Theft Auto V, another title by Rockstar Games, which similarly features a UFO and some strange murals.
