|Hey there, cowboy. This article looks a little bit small.|
I reckon you could impress me by contributing to it. Don't be shy now.
Racing Challenges are a category of multiplayer challenges in Red Dead Redemption that involve horse racing in the Grand Prix game mode. The races and associated challenges are part of the Liars and Cheats Pack DLC. There are six sets of racing challenges as detailed in the sections below. Completion of each challenge earns the player XP and a new title.
Don't Shoot I
For each rank of the Don't Shoot! I set, the player must complete a specific race without firing a single shot from the provided shotgun or pistol. Attacks with the Hunting Knife do not affect this challenge.
|1||Finish L. Johnson's Run without shooting a single bullet||50||Johnson's Holster|
|2||Finish Coronas Paradise without shooting a single bullet||150||Paradise Peace|
|3||Finish Ridge Racin' without shooting a single bullet||200||Pure Racin|
|4||Finish Manzanita Mile without shooting a single bullet||250||Natural Preserve|
|5||Finish Boulder Dash without shooting a single bullet||300||Dashin not Blastin|
Don't Shoot II
For each rank of the Don't Shoot! II set, the player must complete a specific race without firing a single shot from the provided shotgun or pistol. Attacks with the Hunting Knife do not affect this challenge.
|1||Finish Saint's Sprint without shooting a single bullet||50||WWJD|
|2||Finish Carrera Del Diablo without shooting a single bullet||150||WWSD|
|3||Finish Rathskeller Run without shooting a single bullet||200||Tumbled Through|
|4||Finish Rio Run without shooting a single bullet||River Runner|
|5||Finish Sidewinder Breeze without shooting a single bullet||300||Slippery Sidewinder|
Each rank in the Grand Prix set requires the player to accumulate a certain number of points in their racing history. Points are earned based on place in each race (10 points for 1st, 8 for 2nd, etc.). Each rank of the set builds on the achievements of the previous rank (the counter is not reset to zero between ranks).
|1||Accumulate 250 points||50||Stuck in the Saddle|
|2||Accumulate 500 points||Midnight Club Veteran|
|3||Accumulate 750 points||Grand Theft Horse Wins|
Finish All 3
This challenge involves finishing all three of the racing circuits.
|1||Complete short, medium, and long Grand Prix at least once||50||Del Mar Competitor|
Each rank in the Kills set involves killing racing opponents and/or their mounts.
|1||Kill someone while on horseback||50||Union Worker & Mounted and Dangerous|
|2||Get revenge on your killer while on horseback||150||
Each rank of the Top 3 set requires the player to finish in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in any set of races a certain number of times. Each rank of the challenge builds on the achievements of the previous challenge (the counter is not reset to zero between ranks). Note that this means the rank the player received after the total number of races, not each one.
|1||Place in the top three 10 times in Grand Prix||50||Seabiscuit|
|2||Place in the top three 15 times in Grand Prix||150||Santa's Little Helper|
|3||Place in the top three 25 times in Grand Prix||200||Lucky Seven|
- The Title "Santa's Little Helper" is most likely a reference to the pet dog of the famous TV series "The Simpsons". Ironically, the player has to place in the Top Three 15 times, while the dog always came in dead last.
- The Title "Seabiscuit" is a reference to the horse/movie of the same name.
- Two of the earned titles are references to other games published by Rockstar: "Grand Theft Horse Wins" for the Grand Theft Auto series and "Midnight Club Veteran" for the Midnight Club series.
- "WWSD" means "What would Satan do?" A variant on WWJD since the name of the track includes Diablo, which is Satan in Spanish.
- WWJD means "what would Jesus do"
