Stronghold Challenges are a category of multiplayer challenges in Red Dead Redemption that involve the Stronghold game mode. The Stronghold game mode and associated challenges are part of the Liars and Cheats Pack DLC. There are seven sets of Stronghold challenges as detailed in the sections below. Completion of each rank of each challenge earns the player XP and a new title.
Player performance in the Stronghold maps added by the Myths and Mavericks DLC counts towards each of these challenges, with the exception of the Time Attacking challenges (which are specific to the original Stronghold locations).
Capture Checkpoints[]
For each rank of the Capture Checkpoints set of challenges, the player must capture a certain number of checkpoints while on the attacking team.

Defense Kills[]
For each rank of the Defense Kills set of challenges, the player must kill a certain number of players from the attacking team while the player is on the defending team.

Got Lives?[]
For each rank of the Got Lives? set of challenges, the player's team must finish their turn attacking with at least a certain number of lives remaining. Each team is granted a limited number of lives (respawns) per round.

Hard to Kill[]
For each rank of the Hard to Kill set of challenges, the player must survive the attacking round with fewer than a certain number of deaths (respawns).

Trivia[]
- The title "Stairway to Hell" is both a reference to the song Stairway to Heaven as well as Escalera, which means "Stairway" in Spanish.
- The title "City Slicker", is a slang term referring to people who are accustomed to city life. Usually used as an insult from people in the country.
- The title "Got Lives?" is an obvious reference to the famous advertising slogan "Got Milk?"
