Undead Overrun Challenges are a category of multiplayer challenges in Red Dead Redemption that involve the Undead Overrun game mode. The Undead Overrun game mode and associated challenges are part of the Undead Nightmare DLC. There are four sets of Undead Overrun challenges as detailed in the sections below. Completion of each challenge earns the player XP and a new title.
Team Player[]
For each rank of the Team Player set of challenges, the player must revive a certain number of downed teammates and accrue a certain number of assists within a single game. Assists are earned by wounding an enemy who is finished off by another player. For rank 5, the counter is reset to zero (assists and revivals earned before completing rank 4 do not count towards the required totals).
Rank | Description | XP | Title |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Revive 1 downed player | 50 | Helping Hand |
2 | Revive 3 downed players and accrue 5 assists in one game | 100 | Doing Most of the Work |
3 | Accrue 10 assists and 5 defenses in one game. | 150 | Guardian Angel |
4 |
Accrue 15 assists, use Dynamite to kill 5 zombies with one stick, revive 5 downed players in one game. |
200 | Body Parts Flying |
5 | Accrue 200 assists and 100 revivals total | 250 | Heart of the Team |
Zombie Kill Chain[]
For each rank of the Zombie Kill Chain set of challenges, the player must achieve a kill chain of a certain level. Each time an enemy is killed, a countdown timer appears (starting with the second kill). A kill chain is increased by killing the next enemy before the timer is complete. The current kill chain level appears as a number within the timer circle.
Rank | Description | XP | Title |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Get a kill chain of 10 | 50 | Damned, Beware! |
2 | Get a kill chain of 20 | 100 | No Sweat! |
3 | Get a kill chain of 30 | 150 | No Un, Just Dead |
4 | Get a kill chain of 35 | 200 | No Time to Breathe |
5 | Get a kill chain of 40 | 250 | No Bullet in Vain |
Zombie Kills[]
For each rank of the Zombie Kills set of challenges, the player must net a certain number and type of kills, cumulative across multiple sessions of the game. Note the word "additional" in the third rank of the challenge, which implies that the kill counter is reset to zero when starting that rank. For the final two ranks, the counter is not reset so the fourth rank, for example, requires 1000 total kills (including the 500 from rank 3), not 1000 additional kills.
Rank | Description | XP | Title |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Kill 5 of each zombie type | 50 | Undead All Rounder |
2 | Have a 20 zombie kill streak using a shotgun in one game | 100 | No Shell Wasted |
3 | Kill 500 additional zombies | 150 | Keepin 'em Dead |
4 | Kill 1000 zombies | 200 | Go Back to Hell |
5 | Kill 5000 zombies | 250 | Undead's Nightmare |
Zombie Waves[]
For the first four ranks of the Zombie Waves set of challenges, the player must survive a certain number of waves without being downed, within a single game. For rank 5, the counter is reset to zero (waves completed prior to completing rank 4 do not count towards the required total).
Rank | Description | XP | Title |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Survive for 2 waves without being downed in one game | 50 | Just Warming Up |
2 | Survive for 4 waves without being downed in one game | 100 | Wave of the Dead |
3 | Survive for 10 waves without being downed in one game | 150 | I'm Ready for More! |
4 |
Survive for 15 waves without being downed in one game and having opened 10 coffins |
200 | Undertaker |
5 | Complete a total of 500 waves | 250 | Tsunami |
Trivia[]
- The title "Guardian Angel" earned in rank 3 of the Team Player challenge is also the phrase used by the announcer when a player defends another player ("defends" means that the player kills an Undead who is attacking another player).
