History
Background
Norman was, at one point, an outlaw who became an associate of Micah Bell. He married a woman named Maddy, and the two had a son together. Norman participated in a bank robbery down south alongside Micah, which ended poorly for unspecified reasons.
Events of Red Dead Redemption 2
When Micah is arrested, Norman takes his weapons and stores them in his house. He also refuses to save Micah from being hanged, which suggests he dislikes Micah.
In the mission "Blessed are the Meek?", Micah states that he has some "unfinished business" with him after escaping from jail. Micah rushes over to Norman's house, and, after Norman answers the door, Micah shoots both him and Maddy before entering the house and reclaiming his weapons.

- In the Epilogue, a stranger may ask the player to find their missing dog. Bearing in mind that he lives in the same house that Norman did and that he says he lost his family, it is likely that he is Norman's son.
