For the owner of S.M. Neely Ship Chandler and Grocer in Red Dead Redemption 2, see Sam Neely.

I hear the mayor likes to dabble in opium. A lot of dabble.
Norris Laskey

Norris Laskey is a minor character featured in Red Dead Redemption.

History[]

Background[]

Norris can be seen working at the general store in Blackwater, S. M. Neely Ship Chandler and Grocer, in 1911 and 1914. It was previously seen being run by Sam Neely. He also appears to be a serious gambler, and has a relative, Captain Maxwell Laskey, buried at Blackwater cemetery.

Events of Red Dead Redemption[]

Norris can usually be found manning his store, where the player can buy and sell various items. He will usually stand behind the counter or sweep the floor with a broom. Occasionally, he will be robbed by a member of Dutch's Gang, and appeal for the player's help in catching the thief. When not manning the store, he can be encountered reading a newspaper on the bench outside his store or walking the streets of Blackwater. However, he is also known to spawn at the Blackjack table in the saloon, usually playing with fellow shopkeeper Jung Fook-Sing. After working hours when he closes his store, he will go to the saloon for a smoke.

Quote[]

Y'know about that engine that's always in front of the saloon? It's quite a cheap one, but a big one.
Norris Laskey on the cart outside the Blackwater saloon
I sell the best wares in Blackwater! Ask anybody.
Norris Laskey, when the player comes into his store
Mhmm, I heard the same thing. I did.
Norris Laskey, responding to a rumor
Haha, yes, you got me. Anyway...
Norris Laskey, when insulted
Well, that was quite an obvious jab at my masculinity. Thank you.
Norris Laskey, when insulted
Those Apollo razors will need you not to shave for a month! Believe me.
Norris Laskey, conversing
That Portarican alligator soap will really get you clean! Believe me.
Norris Laskey, conversing
Hmmm, now that's just hearsay.
Norris Laskey, dismissing a rumor
I don't listen to rumors, but tell me more.
Norris Laskey, intrigued in a conversation
Are you trying to hurt my feelings? I'm a sensitive man.
Norris Laskey, when insulted or threatened
You are a saint and a scholar! Here's a token of my gratitude.

    • In fact, Norris likes to gossip a lot about numerous topics in general, in kind of similar way Wilton Glover, Tobias Finkelstein and some other NPC's do.
  • His head model is similar to those of Androcles Ott, Dieter Frommel, Saul Bundy, Leonard Bone and Felix Milner, although some of the said characters' heads appear to be aged up.
  • He wears the same outfit as Oscar Farley.
  • If he is attacked, he will either run away, engage the player in a fistfight or pull out the Repeater Rifle to defend himself.
  • Even if there is no one else at the Blackjack besides the player and Norris, he will still keep yapping non-stop about numerous topics.
