Events of Red Dead Redemption 2[]
Horseshoe Overlook Chapter[]
Old Boy can first be found at the Van der Linde gang’s camp at Horseshoe Overlook, where, during the mission “Paying a Social Call”, a former O’Driscoll, Kieran Duffy, was coerced into giving over the location of his boss. John puts Kieran on him, before he, Arthur Morgan and his horse, Bill Williamson, and Brown Jack head over to Six Point Cabin. He is hitched nearby shortly before a firefight, and following this, John rides him back to camp. After this, John rides him to escape the law in “Pouring Forth Oil - IV”. The two then head into Valentine to look for more potential jobs. They meet back up with Arthur and his horse, before stealing some sheep and herding them into Valentine to claim the money for them. They then head to the saloon to meet with Dutch van der Linde, and an ambush occurs involving Leviticus Cornwall. Following the shootout, John and Leopold Strauss ride on him back into camp.
Clemens Point Chapter[]
The gang is forced to relocate to Clemens Point, and sometime afterwards, he and John head to Caliga Hall alongside Javier Escuella and Boaz to discuss some horses that could be stolen. When Arthur and his horse arrive, they head to the Braithwaite stable where a shootout takes place and they are forced to ride away. They get to a safe spot, and the horses get sold before they head back into camp. John rides him up to the Braithwaite Manor in “Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern” following Jack Marston’s disappearance.
Saint Denis Chapter[]
In order to search for Jack, the gang decides to set up at Shady Belle, but before doing this John rides Old Boy alongside Arthur and his horse to clear out the place. After this, they head into Saint Denis where he is ridden from Angelo Bronte’s mansion to a cemetery so that John and Arthur can deal with a few people as part of a deal to get Jack back. They return to the mansion, and Jack is placed on him before they ride back into camp. Sometime after, John takes him and follows other members of the gang to go and rob the Lemoyne National Bank. After the robbery was found to be a setup, it all ends poorly and John is imprisoned, he does not appear again for a while after this.
Beaver Hollow Chapter[]
After John is rescued from prison, Old Boy appears at the gang’s new camp in Beaver Hollow, though he is not seen being ridden until the gang leads an attack on a Cornwall Factory, which, at the end of this, the two ride back into camp. John then rides him during “Our Best Selves”, where he splits up from the gang alongside Arthur and his horse for a moment before regrouping, and he jumps from him in order to rob the train. John falls off the train, however, Old Boy appears to have returned back to camp afterwards. In “Red Dead Redemption”, John tries to escape from the Pinkertons on Old Boy, but he and Arthur’s horse are shot down, something which John does not seem too upset about, though he was undergoing much pressure and remained wounded himself.
Character[]
Personality[]
Old Boy is docile in nature, though, he will get skittish from time to time. John and him don't seem to have much of a bond, but the two get along well enough.
