Outlaws from the West is the first storyline mission in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Mission overview
Half frozen, close to death, and on the run, the gang find shelter in an old abandoned mining town. Dutch, Arthur, and Micah head out to look for supplies.
Story
Gold Medal Objectives
- Take no damage during the shootout.
- Loot 6 or more items from Adler Ranch.
- Complete with at least 80% accuracy.
Walkthrough
Use X/A to match Dutch's speed when the gang are travelling by horse. After arriving at the homestead, take cover in the shed at the location; the general area for your objective will be highlighted in yellow on the mini map.
Another tutorial will have you look in the direction of Micah, who is directly in front of you, behind a broken wagon. Wait for Dutch to finish talking to the people at the homestead. These people will open fire on Dutch, and your objective is to protect him. Kill everyone who is threatening Dutch. Be aware that one enemy comes onto the upper level, and another will come from the outhouse on the left. Note that killing the enemy that runs away will lower your Honor.
Enter the house when prompted, and begin to search for collectibles around the house. Remember to look inside furniture such as cabinets and drawers. When prompted, open your Satchel and eat some of the Provisions you have collected. These will restore a portion of your Health Core.
Back outside, head to the barn and open the door with the appropriate button. You will be ambushed by an enemy, so press the button on screen repeatedly to subdue him, and interrogate him using the instructions on the screen. You now need to calm the horse inside the barn. Follow the onscreen instructions, take the horse outside, hitch it on the post, and enter the cabin to finish the mission.

Trivia
- Javier Escuella's only appearance in this mission is just before the title of the chapter appears on the screen. He can be seen from behind, one of two men riding a horse following the third wagon in the caravan. He and Susan Grimshaw are the only members at the cabin that cannot be seen through the windows, although unlike Javier, Susan speaks and can be seen clearly in the cutscenes.
- A marker indicating Davey's corpse can be seen on the minimap, although it is impossible to see his body through the windows. It's possible Javier and Susan are in this same area.
