Prickly Pear (Opuntia littoralis) is a vendible cactus in Red Dead Redemption. They are a type of plant that the player can harvest and sell to merchants for money, or can be used by the player to create other valuable and useful items such as medicines. They can be found in deserts and scrublands of the game world. They are the most abundant plant in Nuevo Paraiso.

Note: prices listed on this page are based upon the player having neutral honor and playing the game on Normal difficulty. If the player has high honor, the selling price will be Increased by 50% everywhere except Thieves' Landing. Low Honor decreases selling price by 50% everywhere except Thieves' Landing. While playing the game on Hardcore difficulty, money is more scarce and the base, neutral honor price of each item will be slightly lower.

Characteristics

Prickly pear appears as a type of Cactus. It is short, wide, and light green in color with the appearance of long black thorns and displays orange-red flowers on the ends of its stems. The bright green and red coloration makes this plant easy to spot by eye.

Location

Prickly pears can be found throughout Nuevo Paraiso, but predominantly in the western portion of the map, near Escalera. More than 10 Prickly pears can be found between and around the rocks just north of Sidewinder Gulch (the player may need to use a survivalist map).

In Multiplayer, they are common throughout Punta Orgullo, and may also be found in the western parts of Diez Coronas. Can also be found in abundance around Tesoro Azul hideout.

• 8 Prickly Pears must be gathered to complete Survivalist Challenge Rank 4.
• 2 additional Prickly Pears must be gathered to complete Survivalist Challenge Rank 10.
