Saint Denis Police Department

The Saint Denis Police Department is the sole law enforcement agency within the city of Saint Denis, Lemoyne. The Department's police chief during the events of Red Dead Redemption 2 is Benjamin Lambert.

The police officers within the department wear a uniform, consisting of a blue coat with black trousers and white gloves. They also wear either black custodian helmets with a unique emblem or peaked hats. The officers are often armed with high quality revolvers, pistols, repeaters or shotguns and use them to great effect. They will arrest or kill the player for committing a crime and due to their frequent patrols they will often arrive quickly and in large numbers.

Officers can be found standing guard at many locations throughout the city or patrolling the city either on foot or on horses. The patrol officers will often travel or guard in pairs. The officers have a very significant presence in the city and can be found almost everywhere.

The police are known to use better weapons than other lawmen and gang members, such as the Semi-Automatic Pistol and the Mauser Pistol, along with various other contemporary weapons. The Saint Denis police department is the best equipped non federal police department in the game and is often more accurate and uses better tactics than rural law enforcement, being surpassed only by the US Marshals and Pinkerton agents. The officers can use a wide range of weapons depending on the situation and criminal threats. The department also has models for different ranks that can be encountered either on patrol or responding when the player is wanted, ranging from patrol officers to sergeants and more. The officers will often use whistles to alert nearby officers of a crime and to clear civilians from the area.

The department has marked wagons that they will use for transporting large groups of officers or in extreme cases the department even has marked wagons with gatling guns on the back. These wagons can be used either inside of Saint Denis or outside of it in the nearby area.
