Sammy is the son of Jasper Feeney, the gunsmith of Rhodes. While his father was teaching him how to shoot a rifle, he was knocked into a river by the recoil. His father failed to save him from the rapids and it is unknown what happened to Sammy after the incident, though he is presumed to be dead.
Events of Red Dead Redemption 2[]
Years after the incident, his father kidnapped a young man who looked similar to Sammy and held him captive in the basement of his gunstore, trying to convince himself the boy is his lost son. If the player frees the young man, Feeney confesses about his past and tries to apologize.
