Well Red, I'm not saying Griffon didn't deserve it. But he was the Governor. I reckon the army will be sniffing around here. Well I'd hate see ya hang after what ya done. Five thousand in gold sound like a fair bounty?
Sheriff Bartlett

Sheriff Bartlett is a major character featured in Red Dead Revolver.

Sheriff Bartlett can be unlocked as a playable character in Showdown Mode by completing the mission "Railroaded" on Bounty Hunter Mode.

Bartlett is the Sheriff of Brimstone, the main settlement of the game. Bartlett was once a soldier in the American army, along with Griffon. Bartlett also serves as the unofficial historian for the area, collecting details about the area and its inhabitants in his journal.

Events of Red Dead Revolver

He first appears welcoming Red into Brimstone, taking the wounded Sheriff O'Grady off of Red's hands. Red subsequently receives several missions from Bartlett, taking on tough bounty hunting cases that were outside of Bartlett's abilities. Red briefly runs afoul of Bartlett after a saloon fight in which the havoc wreaked by Red forced the sheriff to take him into custody.

He reasoned that Red's revenge against his father's killers would be in Bartlett's own best interests.

When the annual Battle Royale was underway, Bartlett served as the master of ceremonies for the first day of competition. On the second day, Griffon grew impatient, however, and had the lawman escorted away and beaten so that he could take over the event himself.

After the conclusion of the Battle Royale, Bartlett directed Red towards the governor's mansion when Red demanded to know where Griffon had escaped to. At the conclusion of the game, Bartlett overlooks Red's actions and sends him off to escape before federal officials look into what transpired.

Sheriff Bartlett's Journal

Sheriff Bartlett is listed in Sheriff Bartlett's Journal on pages 280 - 281 under the Protectors of Brimstone section. The pages are unlocked by unlocking his character for Showdown Mode as detailed above. As the author of the journal, the details the player learns about most of the characters and places in the game are all from Bartlett's perspective.
