Sidewinder Gulch is a narrow canyon in Red Dead Redemption in the Punta Orgullo region of the Nuevo Paraíso territory. It is also featured as an off-bounds location in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online.
Description[]
The area is named for the twisting, snake-like canyons that pass through it. While passage through these canyons with a cart, wagon, or stagecoach is possible, the narrow, high-walled routes make the use of such vehicles difficult in this area.
The Bandito Outfit scrap is located in the abandoned camp here. The tent at the back of the camp has a chest inside. Money and a Scrap are found within it.
The Stranger side-mission "Aztec Gold" begins in this location.
Trivia[]
- A screenshot from prior to the release of Red Dead Redemption suggests that the area was originally called "Sidewinder Creek".[1]
- Sidewinder Gulch and Crooked Toes are the only two locations in Nuevo Paraiso with English names.
- If the player looks northeast when on the very top of the cliff, the Plainview oil pumps across the border can be seen.
