Smoking and other Hobbies

Smoking and other Hobbies is a Stranger side-mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. The quest becomes available during Chapter 2 after the mission "Who is Not Without Sin".

Story[]

Outside of Flatneck Station, an excitable man named Phineas T. Ramsbottom gains the attention of the player. He shares his passion for smoking, and that he smokes up to '200 cigarettes in one day'. Not for the cigarettes themselves, but for the collectible cigarette cards that can be found in packs. He briefly shows off some of his collection including gunslingers, circus freaks, and feline predators before packing up. He says that he'll pay good money for a completed set of the cards and gives the player his card before leaving on a train.

The player must then traverse the world in search for the Cigarette Cards, which are located in every settlement, region and state in the map. If the player wishes to complete the mission faster, they can simply purchase Premium Cigarette packs from any General Store; each pack gives the player one Cigarette Card each.

Once all the cigarette cards are collected, visit a post office to mail them to Phineas for a reward.

Bugs[]

Picking up another cigarette card after completing this mission will cause it to reactivate, and uncheck the "All Card Sets Posted" checkbox in the log.
