Songbird are a type of bird found in Red Dead Redemption. They are blue and yellow in color which makes them an easy target. But since there are very rare, small and fast it will be hard to only hunt songbirds.

Hunting

Song birds can be shot and plucked. They drop feathers that may be sold to merchants. They can be identified by their brightly colored feathers.

While songbirds may be difficult to track down, a good spot to start looking is Rio Bravo. Open fire into random bushes and trees and birds may fly out. Once you see a bird that is bright yellow or blue, you've found it.They resemble the Indigo Bunting. Songbirds can often be found in the Sidewinder Gulch.

Like most dead targets, a dead songbird becomes an x on the minimap when John kills it and is close enough to it. Birds are particularly hard to find once they are on the ground amongst the foliage. Also once a songbird is shot keep your auto target-lock on it since it is hard spot when it "lands" as mentioned above.
