Feathers from a songbird, of high value.
In-game description

Songbird Feathers are an animal item found in Red Dead Redemption.

Characteristics

They are the only item that can be obtained by killing and skinning (plucking) a Songbird. They can be sold to merchants and are considered high-value items.

Note: prices listed on this page are based upon the player having neutral honor and playing the game on Normal difficulty. If the player has high honor, the selling price will be Increased by 50% everywhere except Thieves' Landing. Low Honor decreases selling price by 50% everywhere except Thieves' Landing. While playing the game on Hardcore difficulty, money is more scarce and the base, neutral honor price of each item will be slightly lower.

Multiple feathers can be obtained from a single bird. The number varies with each kill and is influenced by the Expert Hunter Outfit and Rabbit's Foot. Songbird feathers are all the same, despite the different colors of birds that may be killed.

Mission Appearances

Songbird Feathers can be used to satisfy the 20 bird feathers required to complete the Stranger Side-mission "Deadalus and Son".

Tips

  • Shooting a Songbird with a shotgun or the Buffalo Rifle will only make them disappear, and there will not be an opportunity to collect any feathers.
