Stoakes' Ranch is a location in Red Dead Revolver.

Background[]

When Annie Stoakes' father passed away, he left her an inheritance that enabled her to fulfill her dream of owning a ranch. The ranch is situated near Bear Mountain. This became problematic when the Bear Mountain Mine started operation and the governor wanted to control all land in the vicinity. His attempts to intimidate Annie and her ranch hands have left the ranch under constant threat.

Former ranch hand Jethro Greensleeves also contributed to Annie's financial woes by stealing from the ranch.

Description[]

The ranch is featured in one mission, "Range War", in which the player controls Annie Stoakes and must defend the ranch against attack. Chickens and Cattle (Bulls) are the two forms of livestock present on the ranch.

The official name of the ranch is not known. It is referred to as "Annie's Ranch" in Sheriff Bartlett's Journal, "The Stoakes' Ranch" by Brimstone resident Sandy Dodge, and "Stoke's Ranch" (misspelled) on the deed. This article is named in a manner consistent with ranches from Red Dead Redemption, including MacFarlane's Ranch and Critchley's Ranch.

Layout[]

Situated amid rolling foothills, the ranch includes a large barn in the center, along with a ranch house, windmill, chicken coop, and outhouse.

Mission Appearances[]

Showdown Mode[]

"The Ranch" is available as a stage in Showdown Mode with the caption "Fertile Land." It is unlocked by completing the mission "Devils and Angels" with a Good rating. It can also be obtained by purchasing the Deed to Ranch from the Bank in Brimstone, however it is not available until after completing "Devils and Angels", at which point the player has already acquired the stage (it shows as "$SOLD" in the interface).

Sheriff Bartlett's Journal[]

Annie's Ranch is listed in Sheriff Bartlett's Journal on pages 310 - 311 under the Frontier Places section. The pages are unlocked by completing the mission "Range War".
