Tips for when to use medicine? Page about Health?[]

Is there any way to tell when a significant portion of your health is gone? The "screen darkening" seems useless. There's not enough noticable difference in "darkness" - especially when in the middle of a fight. He heals so quickly, but goes from a little hurt to dead so quickly - it is difficult to tell that he is about to die. It seems that once the player notices a significant darkness/splotches, it is too late. It would be helpful if this page contained information or a link to information about understanding health. For example, it has the quirk about taking medicine right when you die, but that is a bug. Any information about what the screen should look like or about how many times he can be hit in succession? I know it would be a matter of opinion, which wikis avoid, but how about "The player generally needs to use medicine when (or before) the screen displays... or the player is shot ... times in a row". A page about health would probably be best, perhaps giving examples of how many 'hits' the character can take from standard enemies. For example, it seems consistent that he will die from 2 cougar 'hits' if they occur quickly. Horses always seem to die from 1 cougar 'hit.'  Or, is it possible to toggle some options-feature that would make health warnings more noticable? Or that he could auto-drink medicine when needed? I've not been able to find any such thing so far. It'd be great for this wiki to have a section that explains game mechanics, insead of the same information you are given just by playing the game. There seems to be a little game mechanic information but it is all scattered in different places. Can you be injured during a loot corpse or skin animal cutscene? Is there a page about how targeting works? Or what effects difficulty or targeting styles have? etc... 173.86.102.249 09:26, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
