History

Background

Thaddeus Waxman was a politician and military officer who, at a time before 1899, had served as a U.S. Senator. He was best known for leading American troops to victory in Guarma during the Battle of San Juan Hill.

After 1899, the incumbent President Alfred MacAlister was assassinated. Waxman subsequently succeeded him.

Waxman proved to be a better president than his predecessor, advocating for mass industrialization which included the construction of a massive battleship for the United States Navy. These actions greatly increased his popularity and he became beloved by the American people.
