Part I

John Marston meets a man atop a mountain side writing a draft for a new book, and the two have a conversation in which he reveals himself to be Evelyn Miller, one of Dutch's personal idols. He then tells John to meet him at his cabin near Tanner's Reach.

Part II

When John later goes to his cabin, Miller takes him to find a group of hunters who have been killing animals for sport. He antagonizes the group before being punched in the face. After dealing with the hunters, he thanks John.

Parts III & IV

As John shows up again, Miller locks himself in his cabin and states that he won't eat, drink, or leave until his draft is complete.

John leaves food at his cabin on two occasions.

Part V

The third time John returns, he smells an awful stench. He breaks into the cabin to find the corpse of a deceased Miller. After taking his book, John reads Evelyn's last request, stating he wants to be burned to be with "the Eagles". John fulfills his request and burns Evelyn's cabin with his corpse inside.
