Bounty Hunting is nothing but paid capturing and killing. Crime is a life of danger. I only choose to hunt bounties because I can put more scum to rest in this world.
Mikhail Teufort

Mikhail Teufort is a character in Red Dead Online

Background

Born in Germany, Mikhail was sent away to America for reasons unknown, alongside his uncle. He grew up speaking English, and knows how to read and write, though the writing is usually messy. He rarely speaks German. At some point, he became a bounty hunter.

1896

During 1896, Mikhail arrived in Rhodes to meet with someone. After the meeting, he went out bounty hunting alongside a friend of his. The pair found the target at a campsite, talking with a member of the Van Der Linde gang. The pair split up, with Mikhail managing to catch up to the Van Der Linde gang member. Mikhail accepted a bribe in exchange for freedom, and the pair parted ways hastily. On arrival back to the camp, many dead bodies were found, alongside the friend. Mikhail returned to Rhodes, only to find it being raided by a gang led by the target. Mikhail killed the attackers, but lost his revolvers from an ambushing enemy.

Events of Red Dead Online

Hoping On A Star - Favours For America

The protagonist receives a letter in the mail from an anonymous person, telling them to meet at Flat Iron Lake. After arriving, they see Mikhail Teufort at the pier, fishing. Mikhail turns around, initially trying to get the protagonist to go away. Once he sees that they won't, he decides to give them a job. The protagonist is sent to clear out a campsite in the Heartlands, which is infested with unaffiliated criminals. After clearing it out, Mikhail thanks the protagonist for their help, paying them RDO$100. He mounts onto his horse and rides off to the campsite.

Hoping On A Star - In The Name Of...

The protagonist arrives at the campsite, and sees Mikhail there, among other people. He acquaints them with the others, who are his fellow members of a gang. After finishing the cutscene, the protagonist can talk with the others. Eventually, a person called Savannah runs into the camp, alerting of an oncoming attack. After defending the campsite from hostiles, the protagonist is paid RDO$50, and they leave the camp.

Hoping On A Star - Falling Sky, Rising Ground

The protagonist, alongside Mikhail, Louis, and Jessica head out to take out a growing gang called "Kenway's Bunch". The four arrive at their hideout in East Ambarino, and fight off the gang. After killing the gang, they capture the two leaders, and return them to the Valentine Sheriff's Office. As they leave the office, one of the remaining Kenway's Bunch members arrives in Valentine. Seeing the faces of the four, he opens fire but is swiftly shot down by Louis. The four part ways, with Mikhail, Louis and Jessica returning to the camp.

Hoping On A Star - The Only Two Certainties...

Mikhail meets up with the protagonist outside of Rhodes, wearing his old outfit. He reveals that he knows who has his revolvers, and he's going to get them back. Mikhail and the owner of revolvers meet up outside the Gunsmith, and the encounter ends with the death of the revolver owner. The two meet up with a man called Reeves outside the church, and they go inside, finding the revolvers in a case. However, it's soon revealed to be a trap, and the three fight off Lemoyne Raiders, before parting ways.

Hoping On A Star - Line Them Up

The protagonist and Mikhail meet in the camp, with the group discussing plans for what to do. The group decides to guard a train unofficially, and end up encountering various criminals attempting to rob the train. The group succeed in their plan, and Mikhail gives each person a sum of money, before muttering that he is considering settling down. They depart back to camp, leaving the player.

Interactions

Mikhail is usually found within camp, and can be emoted to. He is sometimes heard talking with his allies. He sets up the illegal missions for the group in "Knowledge Is Power" and "Collateral Damage", and can be heard with his revolvers calling them his "Pride and Joy of the business." Pointing a gun at him causes him to point his at the player, or if he's close enough, take your gun from you, tossing it back to you after a few seconds. You cannot shoot him.

Bringing enemies to the camp result in him defending the camp with his Volcanic Pistol (Before "The Only Two Certainties...") or his Schofield Revolvers (After "The Only Two Certainties..."). He only uses his Rare Shotgun when being on the offense.
