It's been almost two and a half years since I first joined this wiki, time really flies and with it comes life. I didn't start editing here because I felt forced to do it, no, I always contrivbuted when and if I felt like it. Contributing can at times feel very unappreciated and pointless at times. But looking back at it I do not regret contributing, it has allowed me to get to know people, people I see as friends. Something I am very glad about.
However, life has to come first and under a rather long period my editing has been in an on/off state. This has inevitably resulted in other staff members having to step into my shoes at times and work harder to not let my absence affect the wiki. That being said, the work we do is in essence still volontary work which means that we get very little reward for the work we do.
Many factors have contributed to my absence, the primary one is my personal life where my studies need to come first. This summer I will hopefully take my masters degree and move on from the wiki. Inevitably I was going to resign, it was just a question of when. The current hierarchy-battle that has been going on has both ruined my passion for editing and even engaging in the wiki whatsoever.
I am disappointed but I'm not going to discuss who is wrong or vice versa. Instead I hope that despite our mixed feelings about the recent struggle we can still appreciate the journey that has brought us here, I sure do. I am leaving with many memories and I am proud to have been apart of getting the wiki to where it is today.
In-fact, all good things must come to and end and I want to thank all of you for the continued support and friendship through the years. Thank you!
