AIMING AND DEAD EYE
Auto Aim (Not to be confused with Dead Eye)
Not available while in Dead Eye mode.
Reticle automatically moves to target every time you
pull L2 or
pull R2 halfway.
Dirty weapon degrades Auto Aim.
Dead Eye Core sets accuracy of Auto Aim.
Settings profoundly affect Auto Aim.
Dueling (Quickdraw mode)
First encountered in The Noblest of Men, and a Woman.
During face off
Pull R2 (trigger) halfway till meter in bottom right of screen fills – one second?
Then fully pull and release R2 – turns on Dead Eye – meter is running, opponent is drawing.
R3 (joystick) to aim and R2 (again) to fire.
You can use this method to turn on Dead Eye in some other situations.
Dead Eye (What Dead Eye actually does at each level)
Dead Eye has 4 Levels.
(Level is not indicated by Core or Bar.)
Dead Eye slows down time and shows vital target areas as red.
Dead Eye will tag multiple targets (with an X mark) - which the gun will follow and shoot.
Number of tags placed is limited to capacity of the gun.
(Springfield Rifle and Rolling Block Rifle have capacity of 1.)
Dead Eye tagging won't work with scope.
LEVEL 1 - available Chapter 1 “Old Friends”
AUTOMATICALLY TAGS TARGETS
R3 (click joystick) to turn on – meter starts running - time slows.
Vital areas are highlighted red as reticle gets close.
R3 (joystick) moves reticle to aim.
Any red target zone the reticle passes over will be tagged with an X mark.
R2 (trigger) will fire.
Gun will follow and hit tags on multiple targets.
LEVEL 2 – Chapter 2 – “Pouring Forth Oil”
MANUALLY TAGS TARGETS
R3 (click joystick) to turn on – meter starts running - time slows.
Vital areas are highlighted red as reticle gets close.
R3 (joystick) to aim.
R1 (bumper) will tag any red zone the reticle is on.
R2 (trigger) will fire.
Gun will follow and hit tags on multiple targets.
LEVEL 3 - Chapter 4 –“Banking, the Old American Art”
STAYS ON AFTER TAKING THE SHOT
LEVEL 4 - Chapter 5 – “Fleeting Joy”
Head and heart are highlighted.
LEVEL 5 - Chapter 6 – “Goodbye Dear Friend”
Head, heart, lungs, and stomach are highlighted.
