Today Rockstar announced on their Twitter and Facebook that new fan appreciation DLC for Red Dead Redemption will be released soon...and that it'll be 100% FREE!!! Here's what was said on the website:
" We just wanted to let all our Red Dead fans and especially multiplayers out there know that we have some fantastic and entirely FREE DLC coming your way as a show of appreciation for your amazing support since the game’s release last year - including new fan-favorite playable multiplayer characters by popular demand as well as something for all players of Deathmatch, Grab the Bag, Gang matches and other online modes. Stay tuned and we'll have more details for you soon."
Sounds interesting huh? So what do you think it'll be? It said "popular demand" so do you think we'll get that zombie free roam we all want?!?! Or will they fix Undead Overrun's sudden death mode (don't know what I'm talking about? Go here:New Update Changes Undead Overrun). I hope it's both! I still would like a new single player DLC too though (yes the game is a little more than a year old and I'm STILL not sick of it!). So what do you guys hope the DLC is?

- UPDATE* 6/21/11 In response to a commentor Rockstar gave us a few hints as to what the DLC is: "As previously stated, we will not be adding a train into multiplayer for Red Dead Redemption or Undead Nightmare. It's great to see so many of you are stoked for more Red Dead Redemption DLC though. This free DLC will open up some new multiplayer locations and add additional multiplayer characters for you to choose from."
So no train, not now or ever but new locations and characters! Now Rockstar can we talk about more single player DLC?
UPDATE 6/29/11: Still no news yet guys. Rockstar hasn't given us no further information on the release date or content of the upcoming DLC since their initial announcement. I'll be sure to update this blog post as soon as Rockstar gives us something new. I promise!
UPDATE 7/17/11: Still waiting guys. I thought Rockstar would've said something by now especially since the 2 LA Noire DLC has come out. People on their Twitter keep asking about it and their answer is always: "More info on the free Red Dead Redemption fan appreciation DLC soon, nothing new to report yet". It's like THEY don't even know when it's coming out. If so then they shouldn't have said anything so damn early. But what's done is done. All we can do is be patient (remember it's a virtue!)
