The Vulture is an animal found in Red Dead Redemption. They are large scavenging birds. They will often appear over the site of a violent battle to consume corpses. The player can fire on these birds to complete Sharpshooter Challenges.
Because of their size, they are an easy to find prey. They are easily the largest birds found in the game. In real life this is the Cinereous Vulture.
Sharpshooter Rank 9 requires the player to shoot 6 animals in 1 dead eye burst, which can easily be done on a pack of vultures after completing a Gang Hideout.
Locations
The best place to hunt Vultures would be North West New Austin flying over a small town there. They may be flying there, because of the Chickens. Vultures are found to congregate near the site of violent battles or the deaths of animals. They spawn around gang hideouts after the hideout has been cleared in singleplayer. In Manzanita Post the player may be asked to find a stagecoach. Look for vultures, because they locate trouble/danger.
They are the only actual bird seen in the Undead Nightmare DLC, however cannot be looted.
