Tips and Tricks
The goal of this achievement is to strike the stake directly with the horseshoe. This is not extremely difficult, but likely requires luck and/or practice to achieve. The stake being struck will result in a ring sound. (but not always sometimes the ringer will land just before the stake)
Aim the stake in the gap right between Marston's middle and ring fingers when zoomed in, this is a good way to align the throw. A full and steady swing, releasing exactly when the power meter hits the middle mark, or a little before, will bring the horseshoe very close. Luck is a factor in this achievement and players are advised to repeatedly attempt this method.
It is far easier to get a Ringer at Rathskeller Fork then it is at MacFarlane's Ranch because the horseshoe pits are closer together.
Trivia
- The name of the achievement is a reference to the saying, "Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades."
