Wilson J. McDaniels is a minor character featured in Red Dead Redemption 2.
History[]
Background[]
Wilson J. McDaniels is wanted by the Saint Denis Police Department for murder, bigamy, and immoral animal husbandry. His wanted poster states that his last known location was in near proximity of Moonstone Pond, with a number of fellow outlaws.
Events of Red Dead Redemption 2[]
Professor Andrew Bell III has decided to use McDaniels as a test subject for his experimental electric chair, and so he asks the player to help locate and capture McDaniels. Arthur finds the campsite where McDaniels and his fellow outlaws are hiding out, where a gunfight ensues, causing McDaniels to flee. McDaniels is swiftly apprehended and put on Arthur's horse. During the ride back to Saint Denis, Arthur tells McDaniels that he will be a subject of the electric chair and describes how he will die, leaving McDaniels terrified. Before they arrive at the professor's place, three gunmen from whom Arthur stole the moonshine begin attacking him only for them to be killed by Arthur. Realizing that his only way of escape is gone and his death is imminent, McDaniels begins sobbing.
Soon after McDaniels' capture, Professor Bell demonstrates his electric chair to the public in Saint Denis. Bell claims it is a humane way of executing criminals, instead of hanging. However, McDaniels does not die immediately, but rather cries and yells in excruciating pain, attempting to call for help while the cork is lodged in his mouth. After the professor realizes that the chair isn't working, he attempts to turn the chair back on, while also trying to reassure the crowd that it is humane. After a third attempt, the electric chair malfunctions and the professor is electrocuted. After the professor falls to the ground, McDaniels spits out his cork and utters the words "Please shoot me, please" and then dies from the electric shock.
